Aftermarket windscreens - who's done it?

Postby aySKE » Wed Oct 27, 2021 7:27 pm

Hi all,

Been thinking of replacing my current windscreen in my Gen 5 ever since I got it (past 18months). There are a couple of specks in my POV that can't be removed as confirmed with a glass specialist

Wondering if anyone has gone for aftermarket versus OEM since it's probably about 1/4 of the price. Most mobile glass specialists seem to get very high ratings when reviewed but seeing if anyone has any 1st hand experience

The current windscreen on mine is already aftermarket

Mine was replaced just before I bought the car (2nd hand). Presumably the sellers went aftermarket. No issues at all.

About 80,000kms. My notes say it was from "Instant Windscreens" for $250 back in 2015.

It has new small chips in the windscreen (which don't bother me). Just as well nobody paid 4x the price for an official Subi windscreen.
