Dog Mats for Wagon?

G'day
Just got myself an MY09 liberty Heritage Wagon, Just wondering if anyone could recommend a product to protect the Boot of the car when transporting my dog. It doesn't happen often so I would prefer a simple/ removable option but obviously I want to protect the carpet lining and stop the dogs hair from going all over the place.

Has anyone used any practical yet affordable options?

thanks

Not sure if you can get them for the wagons but I got the factory (dealer?) option rubber boot liner in my sedan. It's nice and thick, has a fairly decent lip (an inch or so from memory, can check if you're interested) around the edges, fits well, looks nice, and is easily removable.

It also incorporates the boot lip protector - the bit that folds out when you're loading so that you don't scratch the bumper or the boot lip. Probably a bit unneccessary most of the time but great for when someone else is helping you load your car... :)

Congrats on the purchase by the way, if you haven't done it already take some pics and put up an intro thread :D

Yes, they're available for the wagon. But yeah, agree with subnub. Sometimes the factory option is a good option. The cargo tray, as Subaru likes to call it, is decent protection. I got one the other month and it's quite handy. Not to mention it helps prevent stuff from sliding around.

You might have to copy and paste the entire string below because the forum has trouble interpreting it because of the long and weird file path:

Nice.
I bought one for $35 on special from autobarn. I cut the thing into shape, pretty easy because it has veins running through it. It smells a bit off but I think it will do the job. If the smell gets too obnoxious I will just take it out. Mind you it is not as nice as the Subaru factory one.
I'll see how it performs and will purchase the subie one if it falls to bits.

Thanks for responses.

I will post pics when it is clean :P
I should come out for a meetup in Sydney next time one is on and get some tips for upgrades.

I had the same issues with my wagon & dog, at first I would just put rugs down to protect the floor, but I would still get hair on the carpet on the wheel arches, so I found this at Subaru but brought it on eBay.

Pros:
It fits 95% well, when i push it into place properly
covers all the carpet
Covers the rear of the seats
Covers most of the plastics
Con:
You need to stick little Velcro patches on the plastic to hold the top of the cover in place
Not quite a perfect fit but close, on the Subaru website it appears they have updated it & added a bumper protector & appears to be black??

You can see in this pic how the top of mine isn't attached, because I'm not keen on sticking the Velcro patches on the plastic :( . I'm thinking of having a look at 3M products to see if they have something suitable, as there sticky stuff comes off with out leaving marks. :)

Ahhh! Nice.
That looks like the sort of thing I am after. How much did it cost you?

Do you own a pig farm as well?

I think it was only something like $40 from eBay. But new I'm sure there over $200 or at least close to it :( not worth that much, you would be better off taking a pic of mine to a motor trimmer & get them to give you a quote, to do the same thing.
If you do PM me & I'll take some more & better pics

Pig Farm??? No :?
