Burnt 4" Canon Muffler from Ebay??

Postby Dodger » Sat Oct 04, 2008 4:34 am

Hey , I have a dark green Gen4 MY05 2.5i Premium Liberty

Im going to put 2 canons on my lib to go with the Dolce chromes I just got put on :) . I found these from eBay and was wondering on your guys opinion.

Just getting the mufflers changed over, not the whole system due to the drastic mess it caused putting exhaust on my previous 08 impreza (long story - subaru saying that it messed up the petrol usage which could lead to a carbon build up in the pistons, so i was made to but a whole new stock system which didn't go down well haha).

This is it anyway,

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, I am not sure if I would need to get something with a proper brand like a xforce canon, or that would be fine?

Thanks, Simon

Although I'm weary of universal mufflers, because they sound different on each car. And some will drone on some cars but not on others, it's the luck of the draw, especially when it's a $60 buy from eBay (you do get what you pay for). I wouldn't recommend universal cheapies. Save up for a proper direct application exhaust if you can.

But I guess to each their own ... style and budget. Good luck! Let us know how it goes if you do decide to go ahead with it.

Btw that sounds like a bullsh*t excuse from Subaru with that whole exhaust system and messing up your petral usage leading to carbon build up, to get out of doing warranty work.

Normally I would agree with Arith, in you get what you pay for, and save up for something decent.

BUT....

The taste factor has left your car already by getting the Dolce Chromies, so just get two big cheap ricey mufflers to finish the picture off nicely.

Thanks Skooby about the chrome comment!
This is it anyway, i never thought they would wreck the taste of the car since nothing but chrome seems to suite a dark green liberty well.
Also, thanks for the advice on the canons as I havnt looked into exhaust that deeply so I will buy some better ones.

Heh-heh. Brutal Skooby! :P

Dodger, you should start here: http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=2382

It'll give you an idea of what to expect in terms of the brands that make an application specific for the Liberty.

eD, I think I've finally given up the idea of chrome. :D

Not brutal, honest. I just say it the way it is.

I mean how many Gen IV owners on here have chromies? Theres a reason for it.

You should sell the chromies and buy a set that suit the Liberty.

Chrome was cool about 15 years ago on a commodore, not now.

Look at some of the members rides, such as......Arith's. Now that is sex
