(re)painting STi lip

Noobish question here on bringing back a front lip to life

A while back I picked up a genuine STi front lip, which already was a bit used and had already been painted

Now many stone chips and paint peelings later I'd like to restore it close to its original appearance (though without killing an entire weekend)

Just not sure on good prep and paint processes and products for this sort of material - any basic tips?

Thanks heaps :D

Images from cruisns how to are cached up in google iirc

I'm just at the last stage of my lip repair: sanding back spray filler for the last few coats :)

Thanks BBB

So basically looking at (trying to make sense of it):

Sanding a few times, from coarse to fine... any suggestions for the grit range if starting with smallish stone chips?
Base coat(s)... of?
Paint (any particular paint type to go for?)

Is it obvious I haven't done this before?

not much of a expert on painting either but i would suggest yes sand to get rid of most of the chips if possible and then
probably going will a filler primer and sanding that back each coat to get the best foundation possible.
