Wheels

Postby Rad-Daljac » Mon Aug 18, 2014 12:53 pm

Hey guys. My name is Rad, I'm new to the form.
I've been having a long debate ever since I got my Liberty.
The previous owner of the car must have acid washed the rims that are on the car and they look awful! They are half black and faded silver its disgusting.
I like the look of the 18inch alloys Subaru put on the Liberty and was wondering if anyone has painted their standard wheels and what it would look like.
My car is dark blue therefore I'm unsure which way to go with colour? Should I go brighter colours or darker?

I'm a bit of a fan of dark wheels, though if you went bright wheels it'd be a good contrast against the dark blue I think. Depends if you'd prefer your car to stand out a bit more or be a little darker and stealth looking

That's true. I guess I'm unsure whether I want to stand out or to be stealth. I've painted my callipers red and they look great through the rims but the colour of the rim is annoying. I've always been a fan of colour matching rims with the car but I don't think dark blue rims will look great. Any colour suggestions?

Hi Rad,

I reckon white wheels would look pretty cool on your car especially if the car was lowered. Ive seen this done. That said, black gloss wheels will look killer too.

Hey Shav
I've actually got the first photo you sent, I like the way that looks
I've defiantly considered painting the wheels white and I'm more inclined to do so now

^^^ They are the wheels I have on my car now. I like them. Ive seen them plasti-dipped matte black and it looks good too. It just depends on if you want them to stand out or not.
