Hella Horn Wiring

Postby xvxxv » Sat Jun 28, 2014 4:14 pm

I bought a pair of hella horns a few months ago and only recently decided to wire them up properly.. (to the battery and use the relay). I've used this diagram to wire them up, but the still don't seem to be working. I haven't used a soldering iron because I do not own one, so I just twisted them together when required. I have connected the power to the positive terminal with 20amp fuse. I still am not sure what I've done wrong.. :?

I own a 2005 3.0R Liberty.

That's the correct way to wire a relay.

Re-do your wiring to get rid of the twist and tape. You don't need to solder, using decent crimped connectors is fine. But twist & tape = baaaaad!

Other than that. Make sure that your switching pin (87) is tapped into the positve lead from the stock horns, and that your grounds are good (back to bare metal for good contact etc). Also try another relay just in case it's a dodgy relay.
