Front lip for 04 GT

Postby VanillaIce220 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 12:57 pm

Hello ladies and gents.

I am looking for a front lip for my 04 Liberty GT. I prefer the STI lip over most of the lips I have searched. I have been on the ULTRELX site (forgot spelling) and the front lip are out of my price range, saw one on Ebay but he messaged me back saying it wont fit
( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/05-07-06-Leg ... RTM1582273 ). Is there another site I do not know about. I want to be fairly cheap on parts because it is only cosmetic.

Thank you for your time.

There's a few on eBay that are cheaper than the ultrex, normally around $200 delivered.

In my opinion better than genuine and ultrex as they are quite stiff where as the cheap ones are made of PU which is flexible/hard to snap

If it says 'JDM bar only' then it will fit

Bit of a pain buying a part that's for a JDM car from a USDM seller haha

I bought this one recently for my 04 GT: http://tinyurl.com/m2z2vf8
Arrived 8/10 condition - has a few scuffs but not really an issue.
Install was easy - just did it on the drive using pavers to raise the car so I could get the cordless drill underneath!
I also added self tappers between existing clips to pull the lip up to the bumper properly.
Been maintaing it with AutoGlym bumper and trim gel.

Oh man wish you commented earlier as in 2 weeks ago ahah :). I already ordered a front lip for ultrex, $350 kind of pricy but oh well at least I know for sure it will fit and it top quality. Thanks for your input too.

The one I linked you to a few weeks ago is identical 100% to the one Jim2013 posted, along with quite a few sellers on eBay 8)

No point messaging the sellers as they are in the USA and have no idea about what would fit an Australian vehicle.

Ultrex are no good because they are quite stiff and will snap if you're not careful

Good luck.

Yeah I was still uncertain about the US lip and I worked on a public holiday so i got some mad pay so I thought f**k it and got the ultrex. Plus stiff to me is what I am after everything on the car is stiff and ridged. I have some careful hands and as they say do it right the first time.

What Zach means, is that if you scrape or hit the lip on things it may break because it is stiff and not flexible like the ebay ones. I've got an ebay one, and I've scraped it many times and it is quite durable.

I see, well I will have to be extra careful ahah, it is not as low as my Impreza and I haven't bumped the front of that yet. I am very careful with what i drive over, the roads around where I live are possibly the shittest roads I have experienced and if it looks like it will scrap or hit I simply will not drive over it and find a different solution ahah

Fair enough, this was my first lowered car with a front lip so it took a bit of getting used to when I first got it

Great thread thanks for posting.I am keen to order one of these from ebay as well, but I have a question:

Q) My car (05 GT Wagon) has standard suspension so sitting quite high still (compared to many on the forum). Will the lip look stupid/try-hard on a car thats not lowered yet, or do you think its still a good improvement/not too try hard?!?! haha a What do you guys think!? don't want to look like a unit but the front end does need something! Thanks :D :D
