does anyone know how easy it is to install the braking light? want to avoid drilling, any way around this?

Yeah I'm kind of inclined to leave the light disconnected if drilling is involved, which looks like it might be.

From what I've read and been told, it has to be drilled, unfortunately. Can't think of any sneaky ways to hide it either.

I want one, but I want the light connected too. But, I don't want one bad enough to drill.

I bought one, they sent the wrong colour (but did give me a $50 refund) and when I sanded it back it took a few chunks out.

Not sure if that was just my inexperience though.

If you do get one get the unpainted version because the one they sent me was not only white when i gave them the paint code for brilliant silver but it had marks from the paint dripping.

So its held on just with the tape?
I thought you had to drill+tape?
Thats good I guess, maybe you could just run the cord behind the spoiler all the way to the edge of the boot and slip it through the gap?

I'd say if you don't mind it not being a perfect fit and finish its a good alternative to genuine. I also recommend getting the unpainted version so it can be painted and fitted properly, would only be a couple hundred from a body shop and they would probably get it looking pretty decent. I've heard that the brake light isn't very good quality and are prone to failing fairly quickly, but that can probably be easily fixed by replacing the bulb.

Also, yes there is drilling involved.
