I realy like the idea of getting a nice billet aluminium knob/cap. But both Prova and Perrin don't appeal to me, because they have their name on them. The Perrin one apparently won't fit our cars anyway, but I wish they just said GT or SI Drive, or even nothing.
I'd pay $$ s for a custom CNCd one

(Stainless Steel would be cool too). I'm not picky about the design, but anodised black or grey would look great in my car. But getting that made probably won't happen...
I've taken my SI-Drive knob apart before to clean the contacts. And in the age of 3D scanners, you could take the knob in somewhere to get made into a CAD file. Then getting it (or a cap would be easier) CNCd would be possible, but don't know how expensive.
We even have a local 3D printing company, so a plastic model could cheaply be made 1st.
