Calliper Colour Help.... Please!

Postby peadya100 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 7:21 pm

Righto guys.. my callipers are looking very average nowdays and its time for a lick of paint. What colour would you recommend on a diamond grey liberty. I think red would look nice against the dark grey, but its been done to death. I like the idea of black or silver too, but they might be too subtle.

So give me some suggestions....... Go! :D

I went for black callipers (on pearl white) for the contrast, did you consider going for dark blue callipers, which would go well with grey, and stand out a bit too IMO

To be honest ive always liked black callipers, but im just so spoilt for choice... i think yellow or red would look great against dark grey, but might stand out a bit too much and wont suit my car. Im definitely leaning towards the black like you.. do you have any pics of yours? Did you clear coat yours too?

No paint necessary :)

Blue would subtle against dark grey. Won't stand out too much

Hahahaha youre right ryan.. those brembo covers would look sensational!

If im not doing black it would be yellow or red I think... not sure im young or hip enough to pull off blue or green.

But im hesitant to make them colourful now... I think the 2 piece calliper might look funny in a bright colour with the back of the brake pad showing... :?

Has anyone painted the spec B brakes and want to post a photo or link for me to check out. I only seem to see brembos painted on here.

Yep, check cruisn's painted calipers thread and there's a few spec b calipers that have been painted (seanmau5' and kody's spring to mind)

Adam I think you've only got 1 option and you know what it is ;)

Blue would stand out less than red or yellow. You need to be younger and hipper for red and yellow. Blue is perfect for an old bloke :P

In my opinion, these calipers are ugly. I wouldn't want a colour that jumps out unless they're Brembos. Check out the ridiculous red that the WRX comes with from factory.
