Hey Guys does anyone have any known window tinters that do a good job located in the Central Coast Region.

I am looking to go relatively Dark, but nothing illegal.

does anyone have any recommendations or know anyone with a good price?

35% is the legal limit for darkness and is fine for seeing out of at night.

I can't help you with the tinter though.

5% is almost not see through (probably not see through at night). Definitely well illegal but plenty of people still have it.

There is info here - http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... i_dl1.html in the windscreen tinting pdf.

I can highly recommend Mr Cool tinting for Sydney-siders. He will come to you, even to the Central Coast.

I had him do 25% tint on my car (which is 10% illegal). Looks and feels much better than 35% and doesn't attract extra attention.

I would definitely not go 5% - you'll attract the fuzz in less than five seconds with windows that appear to be jet-black, not to mention it will be near-impossible to perform any kind of reversing maneuver at night in a poorly lit area.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Yes pain in the arse to reverse with. But I haven't had a problem with mine being 5% for over 12 months now. But I don't have a big p(I'm a hoon) plate on my car.

I agree with the percentage remarks. I have 20% which is just about right. 35% is nowhere near dark enough and a P plate with 5% is just asking for trouble.

Same as me mate, I had 35% on mine and got my front windows re-done with 25% and it match's the privacy glass so much better.
Doesn't look overly dark at all but helps with the glare during the day much better, Look's like a cleaner tint too!

Yep, I have 15% on the front, and 50% over the privacy glass to help match the colour of the front. Also note, the privacy glass does not block UV, so that was another big factor behind putting the 50% over the back windows.

The privacy glass is so shit. I wish they didn't have it on any models.

Depends on which glass and which UV you mean but normal car glass blocks most UV. From the Anti-Cancer website:

"UV radiation and car window glass:
Ordinary car or truck window glass filters out approximately 97% of UVB and 37%
of UVA radiation. Laminated windscreens, which are made from a tough plastic layer
bonded between two panes of glass, block all UVB and about 80% of UVA. Clear or
tinted films can also reduce the amount of UVA and UVB radiation coming through
the side glass. The amount of protection varies with different products.
People who spend long periods in vehicles in the sun can still get sunburnt. Drivers
with side windows down are at particular risk and need to protect themselves with
clothing or sunscreen."

UVB is the nasty stuff and normal glass blocks 97%, laminated windscreen butyl layer stops all UVB and 80%UVA.

You wouldn't want to be putting anything on that would nullify your insurance either.
