So after trying to change the star colour from the stock badge from forums that i had found (other forums) and the plastic ending up clouded i need a new badge.
Had a look on japanmods
http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist. ... r=&VOLKEY=found an emblem for $40 but they want to know if i want A-B or C and i have no idea where to find the info.
I have a MY04 2.5i 5 spd manual lib. Pre facelift.
Any help would be great.

What do you mean ending up clouded? Did you actually paint it? You can polish/sand away the cloudyness no matter how bad it is.

I mean i used a paint stripper to take the chrome off it that was suggested and the paint stripper has damaged the plastic. I have tried a lot of sanding and it hasn't fixed the problem. Used a head light repair kit and that didn't do anything either.

Ahh okay I see.
Try a wreckers for the badges? prefacelift has a smaller front badge than post facelift. Rear might be same size over Gen4 I think.

04 is A In Japan they don't use model years as the change over is in May so the use Applied Codes, for Gen4 A-F. For example my June 08 built car is an F, which in Aus would be My09
Easiest way to tell is to look at your VIN. It'll say BP then 5 for 2.0, 9 for 2.5, E for 3.0 after that you have your applied code A-F. Again, mine foe example is BP5F being a 2.0 08/09 build

Makes a lot of sense! would make even more sense if my VIN worked with those instructions. My VIN is BL9KJ, the BL makes sense and the 9 make sense. Beyond me what the KJ is about. Got an e-mail earlier from japanparts and their explanation was basically ab&c was pre face and anything after was post face.
Thanks for the info RE: VIN reading!!

AUDM must use different numbering. But yes A,B,C are pre and D, E, F are post. The change over was May 06 for the AUDM MY07 model.

Just to add to this someone asked me the other day about a part that had 15.3~ on it and another had 15.3~18.3. This is referring to the manufacture date of the vehicle.
The Japanese calendar is different to what we use and the "year" is based off the years the current Emperor has reigned. It is now the Heisei Period and it started in 1989 so 15 years from there gives you 2003 and the .3 is the month, March
For BP/BL 2003(15) 2004(16) 2005(17) 2006(18) 2007(19) 2008(20) 2009(21)
So, Applied A-C is 15.3~18.3 and D-F is 18.3-21.3 at which point the BR/BM bestowed their ugliness upon us.
Hope this helps people order the right parts. You can always PM me if you need more help IDing something.
