I'm wanting to tint my front window as rear already has privacy glass. So I went to a local tinter n we realised there's already two different coloured privacy windows, read windows and wagon area are different. So my questions r r others privacy glass different colours? N what have others done to their windows to make them match? then how much do the cops bother u if u go bellow 35% tint in nsw?

I have found some Subarus privacy glass is different from rear to the rear sides. Nothing you can do about the slight colour difference. Could probably put a 70% uv film to get it matching though.

Tint will always be a slight colour difference again to privacy glass from inside out but outside in a 20% will match it on fronts.

These are the specs for the privacy glass on an MY08 GT spec.B wagon:

Rear Window
91% UV
40% light

Rear Quarter Glass
93% UV
25% light

Rear Door Windows
94% UV
19% light

I have had 5% on my windows since I owned my car. It was the first mod I did. Haven't even been stopped by a cop as yet. Mind you I have a loud exhaust, black windows, low as f**k with poking wheels. All I'm missing is to be 13 years younger with a p plate on.

I wouldn't expect to be pulled over just for dark tint, but if you do something else that didn't like they would quite possibly add the tint to the list.

It also depends on what your preference is between matching tint and night time visibility.
