H.I.Ds

Hi, just a quick question. Ive seen on ebay every now and then a generic HID kit for a BL5/BP5 liberty that includes the globes, ballasts, wiring looms etc.
I was just wondering if the standard halogen type liberty headlight housing can handle HID's or do you need a HID rated headlight housing. ive heard stories (not sure weather there true or not) that HID's produce more heat and can damage the headlight housing. if someone could tell me it would be much appreciated.

It will work fine. I have HIDs in both my lowbeams and fogs.

and IDOLYZ did a group buy here a while ago, not sure of his stockist, but i got them and rate them, give him a hola he might still have some

I've been selling HIDs for the last four years

but I'm running another group buy on some HIDs, with lifetime warranty...

At the moment I'm sourcing a kit which has lifetime warranty for $~170 delivered. Still looking to confirm prices and quantities though.

Installation is very straightforward.

Also what is the go with going from low beam to high beam and also flashing (warning people of police ect).

So is there a problem with going from low to high beam for long periods of time or does it only affect them when flashing on and off quickly. And does it affect them after being on high beam for a decent amount of time and then dipping them off and back on for oncoming traffic?

It's not advised to have your HIDs suddenly on then off, but sometimes it's inevitable. Just keep it to a minimum.

Libs keep the low beam on when you switch to high beam.
Usually the HIDs are fitted as the low beam, and a standard incandescent globe used for high.
I don't have HIDs, but I've heard that most people don't bother using high beam once they are fitted.

thanks. yeh i was looking at the headlights not long after i posted. i realised the low beam stays on when you put the highs on so yeh it should really only affect it if you had hids for the high beams as well.
