Window tint scratches

Hi all,

Liberty 08 sedan question?
Just wondering if anyone has had any scratches appearing on the front windows. I've got scratches appearing on both front windows, symmetrical on both side approx about 300 mm from the mirror back towards the door.

My guess is a worn window guide or padding or some sort. Just wired that its on both sides.

Any thoughts?

All Subarus do it, one of the cons of frameless windows. If you take your door trims off you can see the little pads that the window is scratching on. The problem one for me was up the top and after 'fluffing' it up and cleaning it a little it's a lot softer on the windows. They're kind of furry/carpet pads and eventually the fur gets flattened and any dirt that gets stuck in them just scratches away. Very easy to clean them once the door trim is off.

Not sure if there's anything you can do about the scratches without replacing the tint?

Minimise putting down the windows when theyre dirty. It accelerates the problem.

I chamois my drivers window daily to stop this as im OCD.

First thing I did when I bought the Outback was replace these guides with new ones and replace the drivers window with a new one.

The tint was only just replaced but there is some dust in the film. Not happy with the job so am going to get them to redo it.

No one takes care of little things anymore. :(

Think I will get the guides replaced and then get the tint replaced.
Don't remember my old 02 liberty having this issue.

Thanks heaps. :)
Any threads on taking the door trim off?
