LED Indicator relay?

Postby chanham » Thu Aug 23, 2012 1:24 pm

Hey guys,

im in the process of LED'ing all of my car, and Ive now came on the subject of indicators.

to my understanding you require a relay fix due to the power or amount of times it flashes.

ive came across this one on ebay, and rather than pull apart my car thought i might ask anyone who has seen one before:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2012-new-3-P ... 3cc9051bd5

model is a MY05 2004 3.0R

cheers!

Hey mate!

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13271&p=236498&hilit=flasher+relay#p236498

I've pretty much done everything but the indicators... too hard basket... I'm just not in the mood at the moment to rip open the undersides of my interior and get tangled up in plastic and fuses..
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Only use the relay in my post. any ebay relay you try will work but the indicators will not flash when the car is locked/unlocked. So you must use the relay in my install guide

All the information including where to purchase is in that guide.

Here is the link for purchase www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning-Fix/Elect ... 81146.html

Like I said if you try purchase that exact same relay on ebay with the same model numbers it will not flash on lock/unlock. I know this because I tried. You must purchase it from v-leds

ah ok!

just with regards to the lights themselves, to my understanding the rears are T20's, but apparently the front lights are T25's. can you confirm this or are both T20's?

thanks!

Ok, all my parts finally came in the mail (cheapish t20 globes + cheap relay) and im happy to report everything works great !!!

indicator timing is correct and it flashes when locked and unlocked.

i know i was warned about the cheap relays and stuff, but its usually in my nature to find out for myself!

all up $16 for 4 amber globes and $6 for the relay. let us know if you guys want links.

nearly led'ed every part of my car! :D

Hey man. Did you just buy all your LED globes off Ebay? I'm looking to make that my first upgrade when I get my liberty in 4 weeks.

hey,

yeah all off ebay, 4 of these did the trick: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-x-Car-Bulb ... 1830wt_906

make sure you pick up a relay for them too, mine was about $7 off ebay too.

old school style led's, dont know the bulb type. honestly i really wouldn't bother replacing them - they are still led's, the colour matches aftermarket led's and they are defiantly bright enough as they are.
