Custom color your badge background.

Oem badges are double side taped on. A little bit of heat to soften the tape will help.

Use a small flatblade screwdriver with a cloth over it to protect the paint to prise the badge and surround up. A razor blade is handy to cut the tape also when you have a gap to do so.

Clean the left over double sided tape off the badge and grill/body by rolling it off with your thumb. Once again, a little heat helps.

With the tape off the badge, the surround will fall off the emblem.

Wet sand the blue background of the badge till left with clear plastic. 400 grit wet and dry is used for this.

Make sure the rear of the badge is dry and clean. I flushed it with running water as I sanded and then blew dry with compressed air.

Tape around the edges and the face of the badge.

Three or four light coats of color matched paint to achieve a nice coverage or even a bottle of touch up paint will work.

Remove the tape when paint is touch dry and let it cure for 24 hours.

A few dobs of superglue on the surround tabs and set the emblem back in will see it secure.

Refit to the oem location with double sided tape or a little silicon.

very nice I like :D just a question when removing the rear badge that you have done earlier, is this simply removed with heat? or is some sort of chemical used?? thanks

Heat just makes the tape softer so it comes away easier.

No chemicals. Just rub the remaining tape left off with your thumb and clean up with prepsol to make sure no residue remains.

You will find it very difficult to get the chrome off the stars. Cant hurt to try though.

Nice work (and guide) Mark. Now let's see it fitted.
Pity 'bout the chrome. Still want to do white background with black stars.
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!
