Mesh grill.

Postby cruisn » Fri Apr 20, 2012 2:36 pm

I got a Corazon grill so am doing another mesh grill albeit better than the first one I did.

Leaving the grill full depth and after cutting out the inside have a few holes to fill. The indent in the lower section is also getting filled to make it level.

Proper plastic hex mesh sourced and should come up a treat in the end.

The mesh wasn't cheap, I'll say that much. I'm going to feel bad if you come out with a loss here, Mark. :P Also interested where you got it though.

Mesh was sourced from Sydney Special Vehicles via Ebay....

The cost isnt too bad now Rosey as Hamish is taking half.

Getting closer to completion......

Side gaps filled, smoothed and finished.

Image

Ive done about 7 layers of filler in the centre divet to keep any shrinkage to a minimum allowing 24 hours+ between layers. Sanded back and level.

Image

I paint over the area black as it shows any low points. Its all good. Now sand it back with 400 grit ready for under coat.

Image

Mesh cut to size and badge.

Hamish: you doing yours with the honeychomb behind the grill or more at the front like the factory ones?
