Woven stainless steel wire mesh?

I'm beginning research on modding a grille with woven stainless steel wire mesh, in the style of Bentley's and Jaguar R series.
I'm looking for an appropriately sized piece of mesh to suit a grille. Here's a link to a local manufacturer:

I'd like to match the wire thickness and pitch to the OEM sports grille, if possible.
I believe this mesh is rather expensive so I'd rather not get the 2 meter minimum as stated of that website.
So great if anyone here uses this stuff at work and could sell me an offcut!
I haven't yet contacted local manufacturers - thought I'd ask here first :-)
Ideas anyone?

Iv thought about this too. Why not get in contact with the supplier for some off cuts or "samples"

Autobarn have wire mesh for sale, it's for all the ricers that need to fill their fully sick body kits ;)

Nah, in all seriousness I intend to buy some also for my mesh grill. They have black and silver I've been told

Thanks, champs. For sure I'll seek a sample.
If anyone here uses this woven mesh at work, marine, mining, construction etc, even better!
(edit) This is a pic of SCA's mesh:

and this is what I'm looking for, this one from SSWM:

Way more classic, would look great power coated satin black too.
Might be really tough to shape properly though...

The Supercheap stuff is just plain mesh. Woven wire mesh is much more expensive and hard to find.

A little expensive but you could cut this up, might be able to get 2 grilles done with it.

I prefer the honeycomb ones better, but again hard to find. This may be enough to do the grille though, send them a message and ask for measurements.

Bingo! The Nissan grille might just do the trick.
Anyone interested in splitting one of the bigger versions?
Thanks - good find :-)

Gauge interest on who wants some, get a group buy happening and source some through local supplier.

You should be able to get the minimum size cut up to suit a few people and split the cost.

Definitely!
I'm wondering if it's worthwhile shaping the mesh outward (like the OEM sports grill) or simply putting it in flush at the back...
I'll know after finding some I guess...

Progress!
I have acquired a spare 07 GT-B grill for a reasonable sum - thanks eBay!
Anyone up for swapping $$$ or ??? (see "what do you do?" http://preview.tinyurl.com/7a9j4f4) for doing the fiberglass/bog treatment?
No probs if not but...
(I'd rather A: *not* buy all the fiberglass kit, use it once, and have it all go off... and B: have a hand from someone experienced)

I visited SSWM and their mesh is either very light or a little too heavy. From memory:

Too heavy: 3/4Mesh 12SWG 16.50NominalAperture 2.50WireDiameter 75%ApproxOpenArea $190plM @ 2M minimum (both about 1.5m wide)
This is satin, unpolished, rather heavy, less flexible and the aperture is a little too big for me.
Poss too light: 2Mesh 16SWG 11.10NominalAperture 1.60WireDiameter 76%ApproxOpenArea $110plM @ 2M minimum
This is easily hand formed, and is already polished, but much lighter, and a little tighter than what I've seen on grills. Tempting though...

Those decimal numbers refer to mm, BTW...
No "samples" either, natch.

I was looking at the kind in the pic - it's known as "Intercrimp" woven stainless steel wire mesh and is definitely the same similar stuff as seen on vintage cars, high end Jags. etc... meaning it's been mechanically flattened...

So I'm still looking! In the meantime I'll be preparing the grill.
