Getting off topic.. having heard back from et.. still off smoking crack maybe?

Just in between bongs while drag racing my 747 winged GT so I thought I pop my ugly head in...wasup Clint?
I am glad to note you like that front bar - me too!

I see you know a thing or two about cars and spoilers......I am impressed and I am sorry if I insulted your intelligence, it wasn't my intention.

I actually need someone smart to help me with advice on how extract some good quarter mile times as I am having MAJOR issues getting powah to the ground here at the raceway  ......can you help?

Do you think the front bar (we both like) combined with my spoiler would help with aero and down force?

By the way - I am not stupid either - you will be pleased to know that I have worked out (on my own!) the problem with premature wear of my rear tyres. It was not the spoiler after all. Since I stopped using retreads things have markedly improved! :bye:

Hi,

I'm new here and would just like to give my thoughts on the matter regarding the role of aero on the drag strip.

If you ask me there are just soooo many other things that should be looked at before you use down force as a tuning tool. If you are struggling to put the power down at launch more rear wing is not going to create more down force in this situation.

Have you looked at your launch technique? Gearing? Engine Tune? Tire pressures? Tires? Suspension Tune?

I would be looking at these first before down force where the gains are made in the last 100m not the first in the 1/4 mile.

This is not supposed to be a dig at you, but I'm just trying to suggest that when there are already soooo many variables to a vehicles performance I don't think you need any more.

Just finished another "Full Throtle" night at Western Sydney International Dragway - What a night!
I extracted some really good times but:
Thanks to the small adjustment of the rear spoiler back of the car was stuck to the ground but front of the car was all over the place and towards the end of the run it felt like car was hitting the aero wall, I really need to do something with the front of the car...wondering if that front bar would help reduce the drag....anyone knowledgeable and intelligent out there?
Where is Clint when you need him?

I've always been fond of this one found on JapanParts.Com. In fact, it was after I saw the Spec B grille on this that I had to have that same grille.
