And if it did indeed serve an aerodynamic purpose, why did you disturb the airflow over it, with that rear sun visor? Sorry mate - you were doing ok until you opened yourself up with that last post!!
It IS a homogolated build rally car - proven to provide an extra 6km/h to its top speed.

Sun visor was an add on, but the GT-Four spoiler is original. If you don't know your cars, don't post.

Say what you will, but it was a car that was only ever released in Australia for a month, and there are 77 of them in Australia - mine was #77 - and 5000 worldwide - mine was #1220.

Save your tears, princess. It's very nice, but the showroom version is not what I'd call a rally car. I am familiar with the old rules of world rallying and homologation. If you want me to run through the differences between your old production car and the Group A works rally car I can do that for you.

6kph!!!!!! Holy crap, good thing you had the spoiler then! I bet that really came into play very frequently, as you were maxing out at the top end. (If indeed it did add? 6kph, I'm somewhat skeptical there)

If you read my post, I'm pretty sure I acknowledged that the spoiler was factory and asked why YOU disturbed the airflow over it with the visor.. I do know a little about cars.. If you can't comprehend my post, don't respond.

I'm aware of the very limited run of the last GT-Four, the homologation purpose and the fact that it was the last of the hot Celicas, as the new WRC rules removed the need for such a model. I still think it's a desirable car to this day.

That wasn't my point. My point is that, on a road car, that spoiler doesn't serve a purpose, other than to look like the rally car.

Anything else?

6kph was tested somewhere else - not for me - it is apparently the only spoiler on a Toyota from the factory that did anything  and I know the rally-raced vehicles are not the same as the homogolated models - I mean, they ditched the SuperStrut setup and went back to the Mcpherson front struts, and depending in where it was rallied, they also ditched the water-to-air top mount intercooler in favour of a front-mout air-to-air unit.
The sunvisor was added not for speed/performance reasons, but for daily use reasons - to block out the sun. Not everything externally on a car has to be performance oriented :P

(actually as I digress - I had removed the spoiler, that thing is actually pretty f##king heavy - the weight had caused the paint on the hatch lid to be damaged, so it was not an option to remove unless I got the hatchlid resprayed.)
