Is this modification worth it?

GT Bonnet

Postby wat_unavailable » Wed Oct 24, 2007 12:59 am

Hey everyone,

I have been looking at buying a 2003/2004 2.5i lib for around 18/19 grand, but still saving so by the time i get the money it will be about jan next year b4 i get one.

I was just wondering, i love the look of the GT from the front, so is it possible to buy a GT bonnet in the colour of the new car? If so, where from? Also, as the bonnet is aluminium, how much would expect to pay...

I was thinking of looking around at wreckers to find a wrecked GT cos, the paint wont be as different as a new bonnet as both colours will have faded.

Any suggestions will be greatly appriecated.

you may also try to find a carbon fibre one which probably weighs lighter than the original bonnet. why not just get a GT?, turbo+looks

I would say save your money and buy GT but thats 10k out of your budget.

The GT's are slowish stock, the non turbos are just a slug for a 1500kg car.

You dont want to get a 2.5, with a GT bonnet and get killed by a Hyundai in a race

i got the 2.5i for $22500 a couple months ago.. i really really couldnt afford the 10k more for a GT one.. doesnt go too bad for a stocko 4cyl thing.. fun to drive, would love boost but i just love the 4gen too much to move to a rexy or something along those lines..

but mate, no way would i get a gt bonnet for a NA liberty.. no matter what model lol.. its just not right lol..

Thanks mate. I agree, it would be digusting to be beat by a hyundai with a fake bonnet scoop. So yeah, no longer want a scoop, esp afta seeing interfooler. lol.
