Hey all,

I am getting some kerb rash repaired and intend to paint the rims to gun metallic rather than the silver, can anyone tell me what the paint code is for the 08+ enkei TBSTI rims the gun metallic ones.

If you have them on your car there may be a sticker on the inside of your spare.

Colour I am chasing is the bottom one

Im having a set done in a couple of weeks.

I have a brand new gun metallic one they are going to match it off as I havent been able to locate the paint code (honestly, I havent tried very hard).

I should be able to get the paint mix info off them when its done.

If you could also get the original silver colour code too that would be good?

The oem high silver is a 2 part finish with a black base coat and a semiclear metallic silver over the top. About double the cost of a normal metallic color.

Im currently in the process of repainting my 08 STi rims. I found 'Metallic Charcoal' from bunnings is a very nice colour. Looks pretty much identical to the colour in cruisn's avatar.

Does the clear acrylic do a good job of producing a good surface, to make it easy to clean? Is it as easy to clean as the standard anadised finish?

Surface quality will be dependant on how good you are with a spray can. These are all pictures of my brother wheels i did for him last year for xmas.

Here is the surface. Smooth as a babies bum, so makes cleaning very easy.

DO NOT USE DULUX CLEAR! That stuff went gold in a few months. You will notice the photo above, the clear i use now specifically says 'non-yellowing'.

The color of those rims was a Subaru color, 36Y Onyx metallic.

I've had wheels previously painted, but I don't think they had a clear coat. Very hard to clean with either a high pressure gun, or by hand.
Once I find a colour to suit my car, I'm going to give it a crack. I'll try the same clear coat as you've tried.

Subaru 2000-2007 2 tone paint code and formulae.
Further info on paint specs and application can be found in your year model FSM factory workshop manual.
