Number plate question

Postby Rome_BRZ » Thu May 05, 2011 10:46 am

Hi guys,

At the risk of sounding anal, I was just wondering if anyone buys any number plate screws in particular, maybe not ones so big and chunky as they stick out on my black plates!

Also, on my rear plates, There is a gap above the number plate, just above both screws any ideas on how to cover this gap? It's more noticeable at night when the lights are on which is annoying!

Cheers,

Jerome

I'm getting a guy at my work to make me a bracket for the front number plate so that it will sit higher and not overhang on the front bar radiator gap.
You could do the same for the rears, or double sided tape it on....but I tried the double sided tape and didn't like it as I always take my plates off to wash the car.

Another option is to drill a hole in the number plate to sit it up higher.

Must be a NSW thing. I have slimline plates and there is no gap.

As for bolts I am using the one-way security type.

Post facelift. There are these circular things where the number plate is. If you don't have a plate surround they are visible on slimlines. It's slightly visible with a plate surround, but not enough to bother doing anything about it.

Yeh I found that with the dealer plates on it I didn't even notice it, only noticed it when I got the new plates.

I was thinking of the double sided tape thing but like you said I will most likely want to take it off to clean. I'm going to experiment with putting the plate surround from the old plates on it...it might not look too bad but I kind of like the silver border.
