Any chance you would look at doing something like this to suit the MY07 GT-B's?

After my brief research, there seems to be next to nothing available for them apart from the Subaru front lips?

I am painting it clear. As explained earlier, Carbon fibre resin does not have a UV stabilser in it. This means that over time the resin will basically "sunburn" and will turn yellowish. If you have ever seen some ol bike mufflers you will proably now what Im talking about.

Also the finish you can achieve with 2pac clear is amazing. Im not sure if the photos will show this but I will try.

Also in the Carbon parts thread I think someone suggested the GT 07 lip. I need decent enough numbers to do this and a car(or bar) to use to make the master. Or as suggested a plastic one can be borrowed and used as a master. So if anyone has one and is keen to lend it so we can make carbon ones, then no probs.

Cheers.

Postby F1Pilot » Sun May 17, 2009 7:47 pm

Yey! Finally finished. The paint could be a bit better and the joins of the winglets aren't as nice as I wanted, but its all learning on this one and the next ones will be even better.

Let me know what you guys think.

Oh and feel free to start ordering!!! :D

Hey guys,

Finally got one finished for ppwl. He should get it next week. I have been having trouble messaging him so if your reading this, it on its way!!

It turned out a bit better than my one, but I was expecting that. Will be great to see it painted and on another car. If anyone is interested, hopefully he can give some feedback when he gets it.

Thanks mate. Im unsure if it would fit your car, but Im fairly sure that the 3.0rb is unique in its shape of its front bar, so most likely not. The master took a fair few hours!! I haven't added it up but i guess somewhere around 30 hrs? cost was around the $1000 in materials alone.

There you go guys, the CF lip is very well made however you do need to have the holes drilled otherwise no big issue there.

Here are some of the photos from my crappy camera (good one got stolen), I must say now I feel the car looks more aggressive and more complete!!

Must say thanks for F1Pilot and yes I am still waiting for more CF bits!!
