Headlights not blue?

Body kits, seat covers, fluffy dice, and other non-performance mods.

Also do i have to remove the front bumper to change the foglight globes?

What model year do you have? MY04-MY06 use H3 for their foglights. While MY07-MY08 use the HB4/9006.

Dont you get a fine turning foglights on when there is no fog. I remembered reading somewhere on the M4 about them. btw, state is NSW.

Yup, you're both right. Unless you're in rural country or it's extremely bad weather, it's illegal to turn on fog or driving lights while in a metro area. But if you look around, at least 25% of the cars out there have them on. So it comes down to whether or not you cheese off a police officer enough to pull you over for it (it's normally not worth it for them), or you come across a check point and they are looking to fulfill their ticket quota for the month.

I had my driving lights on a few years back during the Easter period, and came across a check point where they were checking for speeding. But I guess it was slow for them that night because they pulled me over and gave me a ticket for having driving lights on. I was not impressed.

Anyway, to me there are 2 different kinds of auxilary lighting: foglights and driving lights.

Foglights are used to navigate through fog and rainy weather (or snow), and are generally ion (yellow) in colour. The yellow really does help with the fog conditions. Yes, I think these should only be on during fog conditions because the yellow also produces a lot of glare for oncoming traffic.

As for driving lights, I see these as being standard halogen (or white), and are used to help navigate the roads during normal or rural driving. They help to illuminate the road ahead, so I don't see why they should be illegal as they increase safety.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

people that have them on probably dont know about the rule or dont know how to turn them off or cbf'd. I think the rule was created because the huge ass 4WD's with the their socalled "foglights" which can show animals 3-4km's away. LOL

Also, driving lights must be switched so they only come on with high-beam (and go off when you dip your lights), whereas fog lights aren't as they usually are used with low beam, or no beam.

The law is: '
(3) Also, a driver driving during the day in fog, or other hazardous
weather conditions causing reduced visibility, may drive
without the headlights of the driver’s vehicle operating if the
vehicle is fitted with front fog lights and those lights are
operating effectively and are clearly visible

"hazardous weather condition" could be easily argued in many daylight situations, ie. heavy thunderstorm of even dusk driving away from the sun.

That only says when you are allowed to turn your headlights off. It doesn't say when you are allowed to have your foglights on. :)

I dunno, I would interpret "fitted with front fog lights and those lights are
operating effectively and are clearly visible" as "turned on", the legal wording is to also make sure that they are not concealed or broken.

Put it this way... never been pulled over for driving with fogs on, on my past three cars. I had HIDs in my E36 BMW, had them on with the angeleye rings, I got asked to turn on my headlights and that was it.
