Dear Mick and other fuddy duddy with station wagon,
Just to make one thing straight first: real men drive sedans and their sedans have big, proud, erected, “look at me” spoilers.
And unlike those funny “lips” that people keep sticking on back of their cars my spoiler actually has a purpose. And no the purpose of it is not to make people laugh or scare children but to provide the vehicle with extra traction and stability which it needs at high speeds it reaches. You only need to have one good look at the wear of my rear tyres to know what I am talkin bout.

This shit is obviously gonna get way out of hand again!!! et, im pretty sure it was determined before that the reason for the bad wear on ur tyres was due to ur poor choice in use of re-treads!!

U also keep claiming that u need ur monster wing for stability, downforce and traction.......IMHO i think its crap. Please show us a dyno sheet, track times or anything....better yet, come along to the next dyno day and show us what ur powerhouse is pulling that needs that erected monument.

Well as far as retreads are concerned I learnt my lesson and won't go there again.

And I am not willing to respond to your requests proving the numbers, I am not the type that likes to brag especially when it comes to my erected monument.

My car will do well in excess of the numbers you quoted my friend and I guess you can call it an animal coz it goes real hard and tyres are a very soft compound for improved traction - this machine is putting a lot powah to the ground and it needs all the help it can get.

Lips go on the front of cars not the back by the way and your tyres are probably due to be rotated thats why their wearing out...

I let this discussion about ET and the wing etc go when I read it last time- it was an old thread by the time I got there... But to read this S*&t again? - ok you got me this time.
Let me first say that if someone was trying to have a lend of all of us, this is the type of thing I would expect. But taking his existance and circumstances as being for real...
ET- I can't imagine how you got retreads for the LIB GT. First, what maniac car tyre dude put them togeather let alone sold them to you. You could have been killed! They have a speed rating for a reason- retreads have no speed rating let alone the w minimum that you got with the re050 standard aussie spec fitted (and should never go below when refitting tyres). Check this link- both speed and load ratings are the two numbers on tyres that are most commonly misunderstood or ignored.

You are seriously F(*^kig lucky to be here to be able to pull our legs- if you are claiming to have gone fast enough in that GT, that you belive the positive downforce (possibly) generated by that wing had an influence on the cars' dynamics leading to tyre wear.

Get talking to Subaru ASAP, you must have data from your windtunnel that will blow their minds! Your (what must have been) very expensive development budget for the wing (to produce such an enormous effect) should be put to greater use than being the unsubstanciated but clearly unmittigated sucess that it clearly is.

Wings can have a positive relationship with the stability of a car, but racing teams have years of data, that has been very time consuming to get (expensive), that tells tham where to start angling it from, and very small parts of a degree change is used to get a great change in the effect. Again get a job with someone where you can put this experience to better use...
There is a 99% chance that all you did with that piece of ricey pornstar wing is reduce your top speed due to drag...
