Rim Fitment on 05 Liberty Gt

Postby JDGT05 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:47 pm

Hey Guys,

Looking at getting these rims, does anyone know if they will actually fit on the car,

As far as I know no one here has fitted 10.5inches on the rear of a lib (on this forum anyway)

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/west-perth/wheels-tyres-rims/18-work-meister-alloy-wheels-big-dish-/359395522

Any advice appreciated.

How bad? If too much work needs to be done I'll just leave it at that.

I'm getting my guards flared 20mm just to fit 18x8.5 +44 offset. 245/40/18.

I'm keen to see if you attempt this.

I don't know what tires they have & I am certainly not a wheel expert, but a rough estimate from http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp , compared to stock wheels shows that:

Package will stick out 108 mm (4.3'') farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.

Have you factored in installing a hub conversion kit also?

youd need 5x114.3 hubs as ours are 5x100
theyd have no problems clearing the suspension, but yeah an extra 8-10cm outwards...doubt theres room no matter how much rolling/pulling you do.....the US legacy boys dont even go that wide.

or you could just get some widebody kit made up :D

You'll need these, theyre cheap.....

I seriously dont get the desire of people to try and fit the widest rims you can under a car and then have to mod everything to suit.......

Haha well my conclusion is I'll just leave it at that! Don't feel like modifying any stock panel bodywork. Shame! Really want my car more "stanced"

yeh max anyone has gone was a 10 inch +15 in the states and that took some serious work. Inner fenders cut to accomadate with ugly looking overfenders.

Max you can fit without to much work (lip and slight pull) is roughly around a 8.5 +20 to 9.5 +35

Agreed :D

Very very nice rims but you won't get the really aggressive concave spoke cos the offset isn't low enough.
