Query for those with MY08/MY09 Libertys

Postby Moi » Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:29 am

Just to satisfy my curiosity...did the MY08 or MY09 Libertys come with gas bonnet struts ala the Imprezas or are they still making do with old school bonnet stands?

Cheers

Old school. But I like it because you can actually prop the bonnet a good 90 degrees for unrestricted access to work on the car. But the heavy non-aluminium bonnets (MY07 onwards) can prove difficult for those with twigs for arms. :P

Not just you :)

Thanx for the confirmation everyone. I wonder if the Impreza struts would fit our Libertys? Might have to check it out myself when I next get a service at Subaru.

Cheers

Liberty is slightly different under the bonnet which makes using the impreza struts impossible. Suffice to say there are obstructions.

I hate that bloody proppy uppy thingy!! Always had struts on all my cars - makes it so much easier to work on and also when the car is on show it looks much better. Not to mention that you can't take photo's without it getting in the way either...

OK, off my soap box now...
