This thread is a reference for people who can't decide to buy a 2.0L GT or a 3.0RB. After owning both in a 2005 GT (MT) and a 2005 RB (MT) we can try to aid the decision.

GT
Aesthetics: Bonnet scoop
- Power specs are up a bit but you can definitely feel it, Fair bit more punch that pushes you back.
- Suspension feels too 'pillowy' and can't be thrown around as much.
- Wheels look outdated and doesn't follow the sportier GT image.
- Way more fuel efficient around town.
- Performance mods are more beneficial.
- Street credit of having a turbo :D
- More easily source-able power (bigger TMIC's, Dumps, Bigger turbo's etc)

3RB
Aesthetics: Larger 18's wheels, aluminium pedals, stereo controls on both manual and auto, specB suspension, bigger chrome grille, Chrome side skirt inserts, unique front bar.
- Smoother/Crisper/Stronger 6speed gear box.
- Power comes more smoother.
- Seemed to have a quieter engine.
- Cheaper insurance.
- Optional SatNav

Test drive both cars. If you tossing up between the two don't make the mistake of going 100% into one or the other as they are very different drives.

I know that the 2008 Sat Nav option included VDC, which basically means pay $3000 for this Sat Nav system we devised years ago that costs us $300, and we will give you *free* VDC.

I also don't think it's fair comparing the GT to a 3.0RB either, 3.0RB is the Spec.B, so it should be compared to the GT Spec.B.
You are comparing two completely different suspension setups and claiming the cheaper one is too soft, but that's because it's a completely different suspension.
This thread should be about the 3.0 engine vs the 2.5 Turbo engine, nothing else.

Only thing I will agree on is the cheaper insurance, but who gives a rats about that right? 8)

Kieran I'm comparing the preface lifts as they are both very similar price between the two models ($22-$27) and people often are stuck between the two.
The GTB is another 5k+ ($30-$35) So won't compare to the 05 3.0RB.

I have ever only seen sat nav in the 2.0R Nav, 3RB and Sti's in the pre facelift

Not mention the fact that the pre-facelift Gen 4 GT was never available as a Spec B.
