someone hit me!!!

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

someone hit me!!!

Postby LIBER8ED » Fri Oct 13, 2006 7:01 pm

here not long ago, someone decided to use my front LHS as a buffer for there parking... of course not the consdierate type leaving me details for repair ect ect...

of course the option to get it reparied from insurance was there, but i didnt want to make a claim on something so relatively small.. so i went to the local pb's and i think they seen me coming..

they said that it would take a couple of days to get a quote for me, and that they would send it to me later on this week... ie today..

795 freaking dollars..

they are trying to tell me that they whole front bumper needs respraying, and that the front LHS panel needs repair too due to the fact that the pea sized mark on it is worn back to the bare metal...

of course i am going to seek alternative quotes, but if they are going to similar to this, im not going to be a happy camper..

just thought i would share my thoughts and have a sook :(

I just had a repair done and the job was excellent. Call 1800 Bumper and see what they can do.

See if there was any CCTV from where you parked it.

Sounds silly, but there are heaps of people these days that have footage.

Worth a try.

That sucks,
When are cars going to have some sort of electromagnetic repulsion device built in?
Everytime I wash mine I find a new scrape where some arse has opened their door into it or rested their shopping trolly against it. Grrrrrr

this sort of stuff really gets me going- 2 weeks after I picked up my new liberty - some car park prick also hit me and of course no note.

My wifes MX5 has also been keyed and a door opened on it.

accidentally hitting is just careless - not leaving a note is just selfish - purposely damaging?? amazing why anyone would do this or how they derive pleasure from it.

man that's fucked.. i rember someone hit my gt.. i was devo

The girls mum's car got keyed @ a shopping center (i think it was) and yeah they said was like $500 or something to get it all fixed..

It's a shame when pplz distroy others propitey..! they should be more then shot!

I always park next to heaps expensive cars.. even if it means I gotta walk further lol.. casue @ least they have a bit more respect for others, as they dont want to damage theres..!

It has happened to a few of us I guess. It's sucks big time.

I always try and park with enough room both ends, but people seem to find a way to clip you..

Painting the whole panel is common now, they can't 'blend' the new paints because of the metallic and also the clearcoat, sucks.

I had a similar experience with my XT, turned out it was one of my workmates did it, he offered to fix it though, then before I got a chance some blind mofo in a Landcruiser was too busy chatting on mobile to realise what brake lights mean and hit it. Saved my workmate some $$ I spose. :x
