Well, after about a week hacking away at the car, i am finally done

(hehehe, the bros car spent all that time outside )

Process was:

1 Wash with Bowdens own

2 Clay with Pinnacle Clay Bar and Wolfgang Lubricant

3 SSR2.5 on edge yellow

4 SSR1.0 on edge green

5 Poorboys pro polish on edge blue

6 Zymol HD Cleanse

7 Titanium Zymol Wax - x3 layers on bonnet, roof and the back, x2 layers every where else

Didn't manage to get any decent before pics, so none to show sorry

After for the wheels - used Megs Hot Rims to dissolve all the brake dust, then polished using PB's pro polish and sealed using EX-P (x2 layers)

LIBER8ED - the subaru stuff does work........definitely gives a much mostoirised and deeper finish................the pic doesn't really capture that as the falsh was on.........longetivity though is a bit questionable (last time i used it didn't last too long).......

very nice work mate. I like black/dark colour car but heartache to see the swirl marks. Any good ideas/suggestion or more detailed info will be appreciated.

i know what u mean by a dark car, my last car was black, but once in the sun, all the swirls showed up crazy

if you want to remove the swirls on your car now, u will have to use either a random orbital buffer (does not burn the paint) or rotary (this one should only be used by pros).........and a correct swirl removing/cutting compound

to prevent swirls, best to high pressure down the car first, although with water restrictions this is not possible (unless u connect it to a bucket)......some people get a pump spray with diluted washing solution and spray the car with that first so the dirt is dissolved, and then rinse of with a watering can...............all this is to prevent the possiblilty of getting crap caught in your wash mitt

for washing, best to use a two bucket method - one with your washing solution (a good one is Bowden's Own Auto Body gel), and the other with clean water...............the idea is that after each panel, you rinse your mitt in the clean water so as to remove all the dirt before redipping into your washing solution bucket.................this will help to prevent swirls.....also remember to keep rinsing your mitt...

also, it will be good to use microfibre products - i.e wash mitt and drying towels ............don't use normal sponges, as they can't hold dirt and will only drag them across the cars surface and cause more swirls and scratches

i'm afraid swirls are unpreventable, especially with water restrictions around, but what i have described will help to reduce swirls

Just be careful if you see this car around because the wheels could go flying off any second. He hasn't got the strength to tighten up the bolts on the wheels, but you gotta give him an A for effort.

hahaha, most of what i have in the products pic can be bought from Dave at http://www.waxit.com.au ............tis where i blew all my money .....he also has a flat delivery rate of about 12 bucks i think
