Well, I got home from the Great Northern after the horrendous downpour and saw lots of mud and dirt by the back door to the apartments. "Interesting" I thought. "Well the rain was really heavy'. Then I saw the tide mark on the wall. Next to my garage.

Shit.... Worst nightmare ever :( Your car might just very well be a writeoff.

OOOhhhh mate, that sucks, and I think Jims right about your car being a write off. Get the Insurance Peeps on it quick as and keep us updated. :(

I rang NRMA last night about 1:00am after soaking up as much as I could - don't know why I bothered soaking it up really, there is still crap under the carpets , in the speakers, in the seats... as the carpet is black it doesn't look too bad now... but I have photos...

The underside of the seats front and back all got wet, I don't know what is under the backseat, it could be a pool of water...

I reversed out to go to a mates place to help soak up some of the water under the carpet, but as I pressed the pedal down in reverse I lost power... the steering didn't feel quite right either...

I have a CEL and flashing Cruise control light, unfortunately I can't diagnose the CEL as the laptop got drenched :P

I hope they do write it off - the water was full of mud and dirt, and the symptoms this morning make me wary that there may be long term issues if they don't do major repairs.

About to call the insurance company back to tell them they'll need to supply a flatbed.

Guttered. Not the way a Lib should end it's life.
Fingers crossed for a good result with the insurance though, could equal a happy ending.

I know how you feel. A few years ago I had similar event except it was salt water that drowned my car. The high tide mark was about 5 or 10 cm higher than yours. Water poured out of the ECU when it was taken out!

Fortunately the insurance company declared it a write off without any hesitation.

Good luck.

Hobber - I hope it goes well for you.

I would be devastated if that was my lib.
