19 days in Melbourne

Hey All,
I just got back from a 19 day trip in Melbourne. First I have to say - I really feel sad for the conditions in your state with the fires and the water shortage. I didn't realize how bad it was just watching it on the news. My heart goes out to the pple and animals in the affected areas.

It was such a pity looking down from the plane, all I could see was smoke and dry land with a few pockets of green. landing in Perth was such a beautiful sight!

On the bright side, I really liked the choice of good food in Melbourne! you have nice roads too! And now I understand why pple there don't lower their cars as much - those drain things are bloody scary!!! Do you get enough rainfall to justify them?

Anyway, I plan to visit again in winter and maybe go up one of the mountains - I wish we had mountains in WA.

Bye,
Mo

Didn't realize you were here, we should have organised a get together.

Do you want to sight-see, or ski up in the mountains? :)

No probs Ric, I was there to help out a very good friend and while it would have been nice to meet up I simply didn't have the time.

With the mountains - I haven't seen 'proper' snow and i'd like to do that and maybe ski (if i can manage it). More just to enjoy the mountains and see what ever they have to offer.

And perhaps meet up with the melbourne pple then too!

The sloped things you have on the left side of all the roads/in front of driveways, etc
