With the 3.0-liter model discarded, we have it on good authority that Subaru is seriously considering adding a hot Legacy STI to the mix further down the road — a sedan destined to get a turbocharged version of the company's current 3.7-liter engine that will reportedly pump out upwards of 430 hp.

I think (hope) a lot of people are mis-reading the 3.0 not continuing in the new gen models as Subaru dropping the H6 altogether rather than a modified version of the 3.6 engine we see in the Tribeca being employed.

200hp out of a NA 2litre engine is a bloody lot for this sort of car by the way and would mean a big mid range loss (think Integra Type R, S2000).

This is very old concept picture. I don't think the actual car will look like this.

It will be based on the concept released last month, which is very different from this image.

That pic is obviously just a chop, they haven't even bothered to change the grille centre

Old story anyway

But on the off chance it does end up coming with a 430hp (ie, 320kw) turbo 3.7, it'll quite likely be my next upgrade lol

Pretty sure this photo & article did the rounds ages ago... Still have the same opinion... If the new wagon looks like that, I'm sold on it

Looks pumped up! & having a turbo 3.7L would be most awesome IMO
