I work for a pro camera store and haven't seen one of these for years! They are suitable for old 35mm film manual SLR cameras. You need an adaptor to suit whichever camera you have, canon, nikon, pentax, etc. The picture quality wasn't as good as a brand name fixed focal length lens. It was a cheap alternative. As for what its worth, ??? Newagents sell a yellow covered paper magazine called "photographic trader", dedicated to selling second hand photographic equipment. Have a look in there to see what others are selling for. Some die hard film enthusiast may be interested!

500mm f/8... useless on a camera unless it was on a tripod, on a very sunny day.

As a reference, you can buy them new for $279 off eBay.
