Within 24hrs, Suzuki and now Subaru have withdrawn, effective immediately, from the World Rally Championship, both due to the current world financial crisis.

That's funny... I was actually joking about Subaru or Mitsubishi pulling out this afternoon.

It's a real shame that this sort of things is happening.

That's shit. Very sad to see Subaru go. Hope they're back for 2010. What's happening with Atko, Petter and their co-drivers?

Yeh man, feel the same way, must be shocking for the die-hard fans :( Not sure about you guys, but the only upside from this is, that they got that ugly rex of the road. But I do hope they will be back in the years to come (with a much more visually appealling car!!), subaru was probably the only interesting team in the wrc, the spectacular crashes, tension in the cabin, the amazing jumps, you know what i mean. And in saying that i came across this video on youtube, for those who haven't seen check it out, some pretty cool jumps :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdRpnFywpP4

Not sure if i'm right here, but Clarence isn't "hooning through the forest" (lol!!!), really what made subaru? Like when you think of rallying you don't think of, heaven forbid, suzuki, etc?

Well the current ecconomic climate is really changing thing in the motoring world.

Honda has pulled out of F1, & I'm sure there are several other teams are not far behind. Suzuki & Subaru out of WRC... If Mitsubishi pull out, there will almost be no reason to watch WRC IMO. I've always been a big fan of the Jap Rally cars :D

Yes it's what made Subaru famous... but that has been well established already :)
