There is a black cable in the roof of the boot in my my02 liberty sedan. It has two wires but when i connect them to a speaker i want to install nothing happens. What is this cable for and how do i install speakers in the roof of the boot? Any help is appreciated.

Is this for the rear wiper that Oz sedans don't get?

my guess it could be a 2nd connector for an aerial perhaps or rear window wiper on jap version cars..

You're pretty brave to connect your speakers to any ol' black wires you find in your boot.

Going by the torsion bars for the bootlid, I'd say that's under the parcel tray though

That oval plate next to the wires is the blanking plate for the Sub, that comes with the mac's. So my gues is you were on the right track but its for the Sub & the reason it didnt work is cause you dont have a mac & thus there is nothing conected at the other end

pretty sure its the eye level brake light wire for the light in the rear window and it is not used when you have a spoiler fitted with the brake light in it
