You really need to get the sevices done when your supposed to. Any warranty claims can be rejected by Subaru if you haven't had the sevices carried out by a licensed mechanic and the service book stamped.

It's ok. First official service after the 1,000 is 12,500.

There is no 1,000k first service. The car is given a predelivery service before it gets to the customer, the first official service is 5,000k.

I think my car's first service was something weird, like 3500km's.

You should get the car serviced at the recommended intervals for no other reason then to keep warranty. You don't want something major to stuff up, then get stuck with the bill because you didn't get it serviced properly. Trust me, you're going to get a lot more car companies doing that now that the market is down.

I can tell you, in standard form, all cars are designed to be driven longer then the normal service intervals. That's primarily why (IMO at least) why most cars come out of the factory de-tuned.

Opps! My bad. I was thinking of the Aurion and the Accord we had which has the 1,000 service (check to see if anything is leaking service). Ahh yes, the Lib is at 5,000.
