Mystery 3rd Engine Mount

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Ok, left side of the engine, bolted in to the top of the head, silver canister looking thing with wires/plug and some slightly flattened pipe work going into it. What is that thing?

For anyone who may be interested the component is called a "Dynamic Damper" .. no idea what it is for other than some sort of engine torque thingy to maybe take stress off engine mounts.
Not sure if this works but nice pic on the other end of this link https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=41 ... 41023AG001
Its a bit of a PITA when you want to lift the engine to do plugs!

Hey. Yes I used to have that mount but when I went the bigger turbo it was removed. Been running without it for 10+ years now with 250KW ATW.

Hey norbs .. thanks for that info .. was wondering if there was any issues with removing it given there doesn't seem to be any difference in engine mounting design on every other Subi I have looked at .. did you replace the OEM engine mounts with something a little stiffer when you dropped the "damper" thingy?
