Engine cover hits Strut bar *SOLVED*

I recently added a STI preface solid strut bar to a post face lift 2.5 GT-B spec.

Strangely the engine cover rubs on the underside of the strut bar and you can hear it in the cabin. I took the cover off as I believe its off a different EJ255 or maybe a Forester.

It seems to be more flat rather than round at the edge.

Can anyone confirm please?

Does anyone have one to sell or swap if they like red and no strut bar or a different strut bar. I shall post pic.

Its well painted in 2 pack epoxy as previous owner liked red.

I would be ok with original black. I'm in Sydney and can pick up.

Thanks.

That looks like a stock SH forester engine cover, apart from being red of course.

Shouldn't the cover have the wire grill over the alternator... eg..

Thanks, yes it should look like the mesh style. For some reason it the forester one like you mentioned. Im hoping an original will clear strut bar.

Replaced with stock cover from GT-B and clears perfectly. Much prefer black
