Just had head gaskets done and still over heating

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

I’m referring to the radiator fans.
Behind the radiator at the front of the car.

You may want to confirm:
The loom plugs are connected to the radiator on the lower corners of the radiator.
That the fans are working using the diagnostic mode plugs: temporarily for testing purposes.

The the fans work I rigged up a wire thing put it in the connection ground the black n put positive on battery fans went but don't come on when idling except when I push AC button? Is this a fuse and would this be the reason the coolant is dissapering? With fans not turning on would this boil the coolant turning it to steam?? Trying to figure out what else it could be other then head gaskets if they were replaced???

Electric thermofans aren't designed to run full time - they would wear out before the warranty period.

The ECU switches them on and off depending on inputs - eg temperature. As you've spotted, "AC on" is also one of those inputs.

As such, don't misdiagnose the fans as a problem based on normal behaviour.

Yeah I no they shudnt run all the time but they should atleast come on once the engine is hot for awhile and turn off again?? They only come on when I press the AC button not by them selves! I no this is part of what ever the problem is because when I drive it with the aircon on which makes the fans work it doesn't over heat as quick or lose the coolant?? The temp gauge still rises but nowhere near as fast or doesn't go as high it sits just under the white lines below the red one

Plug them back in as normal, get it hot so they both come on and check they are sucking air in the correct direction.

I once hada forester that some spud had wired the AC fan backwards. Whenever the AC fan came on it would try to push air out the front of the car, car would then start to overheat.. No idea how or why it was wired up backwards.

Sorry to hear mate. Pressure test the cooling system. Either get a rad place to do it or u can buy the kit yourself from an auto shop. Also test for exhaust gas in the coolant. Also whilst troubleshooting, just use plain water so you're not wasting $$ on coolant.
