So i bought a 2006 Liberty 2.5i Premium Sedan and was wondering if eventually I can swap the N/A EJ253 with a turbo EJ255? Would it be a perfect fit besides the new wiring, ECU and additional turbo parts or would it require significant work to chassis for mounts ...etc. Thanks for the help!

Common question, it’s very possible with a complete donor, hoist and around 2-4 weeks full time work swapping looms and components.

Generally it’s more affordable to rebuild or replace your engine as stock, sell the car and buy a stock or upgraded postfl GT.

Been here for 9 years and can only recall a few brave souls that have done a full donor swap, and these people didn’t start by asking if it was possible, they just sent it.

My engine is running fine now, no issues. Was wondering about swaps for a future project. On the same line of thought, can I turbo the current EJ253 ( I have heard that it lacks the strength for it.

Yes but generally speaking, if you have to ask, the answer is “no”.

See my reply above.
Yes the compression ratio and other factors make this approach a waste of time and money.

If you want to revel in the possibilities, find a n/a turbo group on FB.

Find a turbo car, and learn to maintain the state of tune properly.
They’re very susceptible to owners that are ignorant of the related considerations.
