Hi all
I have a 2017 Subaru Liberty. 50k on the clock, In which has a knocking/rattle when cold mainly on left turns. Once the car warms up its gone, It doesn't happen on bumpy roads and its hard to "make" it happen. especially after the first 10/15 minutes of driving it in the morning.
The issue we have is Subaru seem to now charge to look at the vehicle if they deem they can't find anything, or its a problem not covered under warranty. So taking it for them to look at it and either say its "wear and tear" (very hard to try and get subaru to clarify the difference between wear and tear and manufacturing fault with a car thats 2.5 years old) so its hard to know what to do
Firstly, anyone experience any similar problems with such a new car?
Our independent mobile mechanic has looked at all the bushings etc and checked things are tight, so that stuff is crossed off the list. of course he couldn't get the noise to happen as he took it for a test drive after the service, after the engine/car had warmed up, so could not hear the noise. He is suggesting possible steering rack though, in which he is certain has to be covered under warranty considering the age of the car.
Secondly, do you experience the same dilemmas with subaru when wanting something looked at/fixed under the new car warranty? Whats the go when they say wear and tear. they can say this on everything and not have to fix it..
Thanks all
