Lowering

Postby B Grade » Wed May 13, 2020 4:26 pm

Hi All,

Looking for some recommendations for lowing my GT-B

I've been given a quote once before and was like $900, not sure if that's the going rate but surely it's can't be that expensive.

Let me know your thoughts.

Sounds about right in price if installed by a mechanic.

Springs are typically $200-250 a pair depending on brand. Labour to install will easily be 2-3hrs.

Only way to save money is to do the install yourself.

I guess same as my post in your mechanic thread, S-technic also do all performance mods, so perhaps ask the question there.

Only other place I have personally used a long long time ago is Wheels World. They aren't cheap by any means but work quality was good. To be honest not too sure if it is the same owner these days.

Its a great opportunity to upgrade your dampers, if they’re worn out.
Lowering springs on shagged dampers will be a disappointment.

Coil spring compressors, a few metric spanners / sockets, and a Saturday afternoon. Then a wheel alignment on Monday morning. Simples. Holla if you want a hand doing it yourself, I'm in Perth.
