TPS base setting and mapping

Postby bradlington » Fri Jan 17, 2020 9:19 pm

I have somewhat of a difficult question to be answered but here goes.

When I originally removed my TPS Throttle Position Sensor- I did not take any readings and since then have had this notion it may be slightly higher or lower tha it should be .
Regardless of the actual voltage measured my question is as follows.

The TPS reading plays a vital role in the mapping and map switching .
Therefore it stands to eason while I am trying to gain economy , with my TPS incorrectly seated , the maps are being switched in earlier or later than they should .
My assumption would be that the TPS voltage has to be set and recorded before any tune OR by factory to align the maps being used correctly .

I am yet to find any youtube mechanics that have actually explained this scenario.

My vehicle has had no TPS codes , nor do I believe there is anything faulty with my TPS .

Hope a master mind can assist me understand the technical results from changing the position without changing any other variables .

regards

You’d log the car with Freessm or Romraider, I’d imagine.
