Hey Guys

Thought I would do a write up here on an install for my replacement radiator.

Long story short I dodged the Headgasket bullet but I need a new radiator. I have found a Mishimoto MMRAD-STI-08X Performance Aluminum Radiator for a VERY good price on Amazon AUS for $365 total. it is a 3 core radiator which is well x3 times the thickness of stock. Sounds exciting and I am going to get it because it's a bargain, but am going to have to probably buy some silicon hoses that have a smaller O.D. but same 40mm ID as factory. Doing some quick measurements and its going to be a very tight fit between the pulleys, hoses and fan/shroud but I think I can make it work. Ideally I want to keep my OEM fans as have seen reviews of the aftermarket Mishimoto fan kits and they under perform a lot.

MMHOSE-STI-08BL (Silicon Hoses)

Both these suit the EJ25 and EJ20.

So that's it for now. I will keep you updated and post pics :D

Just buy stock or oem replacement hoses and trim the length to clear the moving parts/for fitment.
Making a few measurements comparing the stock rad to the new one would be a good start.
And trim the end that joins to the rad.

I’d use some of the old hose to make a sacrificial cover near the moving parts.

I have the mishimoto silicone hoses in my stock rad my07 and they fit just fine

Read forum reviews on the mishimoto and the koyo rads, iirc one was heaps better than the other..
