Was driving yesterday when I saw this sucker right in front of me :shok: on the windscreen (on the inside). I pulled up very quick and got out.

After composing myself a stick helped get this guy out. I didn't have the heart to kill it (call me gay) so I let it go.

Can any spider experts tell me what type of spider this is if the photo is not too blurry

Even the spiders endorse the Liberty

ahahahaha, this reminds me of a trick me and my mate played on his mum once when were in primary school

Basically, we got one of those fake rubber spiders from the school fete, it was pretty big too, so we decided to have a bit of a laugh and put it on top of the center area of the steering wheel in his mums cars, when we went to drive away, she jumped in, saw the thing and f*cking screamed and jumped right of the car and kept screaming hahahaha, nearly gave her a heart attack  - wouldn't you know it, the car was a suby aswell

but yea, i'm an animal lover too and don't have the heart to kill things - unless they really piss me off like mosquitos and flies

so your not that gay

if i was a quicker typer i'd regale you with a few spider stories like the one that chased a bunch of us across a room in double bay from 30 feet away that was so big that we could hear it running on the carpet or the one i spotted on the womans back across 3 lanes of traffic( ran in and flicked it off) in the fish and chip shop. but i'm a SHIT typer. seriously... this alone was a 2 drink typing extravaganza
need a rest now :beach:

edit: DON'T KILL SPIDERS! they do only good and kill relatively few humans.
edit 2: were you this scared!

reminds me of the time i was driving on the M5 when all of a sudden a spider just like yours but the diameter of a tennis ball crawled from underneath my sun visor, down my front curtain airbag heading straight for my steering wheel.. I was faced with 2 options:

1. Stop it from crawling on my steering wheel by killing it thereby allowing me to continue driving safely. The downside is there would be yucky spider gut stains on my perfect light interior. Didn't want to risk opening the window any bigger (there was a small gap) in case it got frightened and jumped on my lap.

2. Sit back and pray to God that it makes its way out of the tiny 2cm gap in the window.

I also don't like killing animals so I chose to leave it to fate..It slowly moved down to my steering column, lingered around my indicator, then made its way slowly back up onto my dash.. and out the window. I still get chills thinking about it. I don't know what I would have done if it started crawling on my steering wheel or if it jumped on my lap lol considering i wasn't in the position to pull over.

When I see a spider out of the blue you'd think I have Tourette Syndrome. The only ones I kill though are white tails/tips. We get some massive sized spiders at my place as we are so close to the surrounding hills.

Well done on not stacking the car - and for getting it out.

Crikey - I had a similar experience but it was on the outside of the windscreen... I had to stop immediately to get rid of it, I HATE spiders. (Perfectly rational fear IMHO :) )

Actually here's a sad story - arriving home one night I pulled into the garage and saw a giant spider on the back wall. I reversed straight out of the garage and went and bought some spider killer from the supermarket, came back and drowned it, then sprayed the rest of the garage.

I know spiders are fine for the environment, but the thought that they may crawl into the car and 'surface' when I'm driving freaks me out... I'd crash. So it's either them or me!

We gotta here this one, that's brilliant!

I've not found any in the liberty yet, although I did see a pretty big one cruising across the garage yesterday, but we just had a little bit of an awkward stare off before it continued on it's way.

I'm always paranoid that when I pull the sunvisor down that one is going to fall down onto my lap, I think I'd crash!

Thats like up the farm when I was driving the Paddock basher. a Subaru Wagon beast of a thing, and out of nowhere a huntsman decided it'd be funny to walk up the back of my chair and onto my head, I kinda freaked and almost flipped the wagon (Age 14 :P)

It's funny you mention the tourette's as I was on the phone to my cousin at the time I saw this guy and all he could hear is shit shit shit..look at the size of this thing. I think he thought I was going mental.

I did do a middle lane swerv into a side street as I just wanted out. Maybe if I understood which ones were harmless I might have acted differently but it looked like it had fangs :girl_werewolf:
