Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B Exhuast

Hi Guys,

I'm about to pick up my first Subaru Liberty, I've decided to get a 2007 Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B.

I'm currently looking to pick up an exhaust and am willing to spend up to $750.

I'm looking for an exhaust that sounds nice and is loud (but not too loud).

I'm currently looking at getting an Ultrex Performance Twin Tip mufflers, does anyone know if these are any good?

If I do decide to get a new exhaust will I have to tune the car? Or can I literally just bolt them on and im good to go?

Any suggestions/advice for an exhaust would be very much appreciated!!!

I'm also looking at exhaust options. Firstly, no you won't have to tune the car if you only get a cat-back system, meaning you leave the factory headers and catalytic converters as they are, and just change the other half of the exhaust which has the sole purpose of quietening the tone. The Xforce catback is a bolt-on option and is around $660 brand new, a popular choice so probably a good starting point.

I myself am looking at getting raptor headers with 200cel cats, the xforce cat-back with some TCP Auto quad tip mufflers. There's a good compilation video on Youtube with a whole variety of options that should help you choose, just keep in mind they're usually a little louder in person as nobody ever has good audio setups.

A cat back could need a tune...
you’d log and LV the car via ssm with tactrix or btssm.
And that would ensure your reliability and efficiency :)

Its more of a sanity check, the classic example being the 2.5i w/ relatively untunable Hitachi ecu...

They don't respond particularly well to cold air intakes or fart cannons.
Fuel use goes up, bumpers go black, for no particular gains.

IME, just changing from turbo/straight through muffs to baffled/stock upgrade is enough to warrant a tune touch up, its evident in my LV.
