Climate control panel oddity

Postby jp928 » Tue Sep 25, 2018 5:49 pm

Saw an odd thing while driving today - went to reset heater from warm to cooler - panel was off. Pushed Mode button, icon of body came up with arrow showing where flow was directed, but nothing else - no temps, A/C or recirc icons. WTF?? turned it off and back on a few times, no change. moved the temp knobs, nothing. mmmmmmm After a while trying to remember how to get the unit out, (from when I swapped the audio HU), I hit the recirc button - the icon came up; next the A/C button - icon came up; forget what I hit next, but then everything was lit up as it should.mmmmmmmmmm
Maybe its a result of having the battery disconnected when the Stealer did the fuel pump harness recall last week?

That's entirely normal.
If have turned it off with the OFF button, then you can selectively turn bits back on.
If you press AUTO, then everything comes up together.

Yep, same with Gen V, if you hit Off it all goes blank, then hit Mode and just air direction comes up etc. Hit Auto and it comes back to life.
